The Hungarian Grand Prix is official known as the Magyar Nagydij and has been held at the Hungaroring, Budapest since 1986. The track is very narrow and very twisty making overtaking extremely difficult. As a result pit stop strategy is crucial in winning the race.
The grand prix takes place in August over 70 laps. The 2006 race was the first time the Hungarian Grand Prix has been raced in wet conditions. The current champion is Heikke Kovalainen after race leader Felipe Massa had an engine failure 3 laps from the finishing line. |
