The French Grand Prix was first held in 1906 making the oldest of all the F1 races. It is raced at the Circuit de Nevers in Magny-Cours. The Grand Prix de France is held in July and raced over 70 laps. In recent years its future has been uncertain due to financial problems.

As in 2007 the Ferrari team dominated the race finishing first and second. It was a reversal in positions from the previous year as Felipe Massa won the race and Kimi Raikkonen finished second mainly due to a problem with his exhaust pipe allowing Massa to overtake.
