The British Grand Prix is raced at the Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, England. It has been held here since 1987 and takes place in July. The British Grand Prix was first held in 1927 and is raced over 60 laps. The last British winner of the event was David Coulthard in 1999 & 2000.
In 2008 a huge crowd was present at Silverstone to support Lewis Hamilton. After disappoint a year earlier Hamilton made amends winning his first British Grand Prix. Despite starting the race third on the grid a good strategy proved crucial as Hamilton raced to victory. |
