Panathinaikos are the most successful team from Greece and have featured in many recent Champions League campaigns. Their best run came in 2002 when they made it through both group stages. They played Barcelona in the Quarter Finals winning the first leg 1 - 0 only to lose 3 - 1 in the Nou Camp.
