Galatasaray play in the Turkell Super Lig in Turkey. They were founded in 1905. They won the UEFA Cup in 2000 without losing a game. They play their home games at the Ali Sani Yen Stadium which has a capacity of 25,000. The club is based in the city of Istanbul.
Galatasaray shot to fame by winning the 2000 UEFA Cup beating Arsenal on penalties. The same year they went on to win the European Super Cup. Since then they have had little success in Europe and reaching round Three in 2008 is their best achievement. |
