FC Thun play in the Swiss Super League. They were founded in 1898 and play in a red and white kit. Their full name is FC Thun 1898. They play their home matches in the Stadion Lachen which has a capacity of 10,300. In the 2005/06 season they reached the Champions League group stage.

FC Thun have featured very little in Europe in their history. In the past five seasons they have qualified just once. This in the Champions League where they did exceptionally well to qualify for the group stages. They won just one game versus Sparta Prague and finished 3rd in the group.
