FC Schalke play in the Bundesliga in Germany. They were founded in 1904 and are nicknamed the Royal Blues due to the colour of their kit. They play their home games at the Veltins Arena which has a capacity of 61,482. Their biggest trophy was the 1997 UEFA Cup.
In 2007/08 FC Schalke had their best run in the Champions League. They scraped through the group stages by a single point and then knocked out Porto on penalties in the last 16. Their run came to an end when they were beaten 0 - 2 on aggregate by Barcelona. |
