FC Nantes play in Ligue 1 in France. They were founded in 1943 and play in a yellow and green kit. This has given them the nickname 'The Canaries'. They play their home matches at La Beaujoire which has a capacity of 39,000. Their full name is Football Club de Nantes Atlantique.

FC Nantes have never won any of the major trophies in Europe. They did play in the group stages of the Champions League in 2001/02. They topped their first group and had wins over PSV and Lazio. However in the second group stage they failed to win a game and finished bottom.
