Espanyol play in the La Liga in Spain. They were founded in 1900 and are based in Barcelona. They play in a blue and white kit. Espanyol play their home matches at the Estadio Olimpic Lluis Companys which has a capacity of 55,926. They reached the UEFA Cup final in 1988.
In 1988 they lost that final on penalties to Bayer Leverkusen. This is as close as Espanyol have come to winning one of the major European Competitions. More recently Espanyol have failed to qualify for the Champions League but have had several good runs in the UEFA Cup. |
