Besiktas play in the Turkish Super League. They were founded in 1903. They play in black and white vertical striped shirts, black shorts and black socks. Besiktas play their home games at the Inonu Stadium which has a capacity of 32,145. They are nicknamed the Black Eagles.

Besiktas have reached the Quarter Finals of the Champions League in 1987 and the Quarter Finals of the UEFA Cup more recently in 2003. Since then they have failed to get beyond the third round of the competition and have been eliminated in the group stages in the past few seasons.
