AZ Alkmaar play in the Honorary Division in Holland. They were founded in 1967 and play in red shirts, white shorts and white socks. They play their home games at the DSB Stadion which has a capacity of 17,023. In 2004/05 they reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup.
AZ Alkmaar have never won a major European Competition but have had some success in recent seasons. They have failed to qualify for the Champions League but have played in the UEFA Cup the last four seasons. In 2007/08 they were eliminated in the 2nd Round. |
