AEK Athens play in the Super League in Greece. They were founded in 1924 and play in a yellow and black kit giving them the nickname, Yellow Blacks. AEK Athens play their matches in the Olympic Stadium in Athens which has a capacity of 70,000.

They reached the 4th Round of the UEFA Cup in 2002 and 2003. Their best ever run in Europe came in 1977 when they reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup. AEK Athens also reached the Quarter Finals of the Cup Winners Cup two years in a row in 1997 and 1998.

AEK Athens have reached the 3rd Round of the UEFA Cup in the past two seasons. In 2007/08 they lost in the 3rd Qualifying Round of the Champions League to Sevilla before beating Red Bull Salzburg in the 1st Round of the UEFA Cup. They were then eliminated in the 3rd Round by another Spanish side, Getafe.
