Swansea City currently play their football in the Championship. They are managed by Roberto Martinez, a former player. They play their home games at the Liberty Stadium which has a capacity of 20,280. They only recently moved into the ground in the summer of 2005.

Swansea City have spent recent seasons near the foot of the bottom league. However in 2005 they had an excellent season finishing 3rd in League Two earning automatic promotion. They came agonizingly close to back to back promotions losing 4 - 3 to Barnsley in the League One playoff final in 2006.
