Portsmouth were formed in 1898 and are based on the South Coast of England. They play their home games at Fratton Park. They have a fierce rivalry with local team Southampton. Portsmouth are nicknamed Pompey and won promotion in 2003 by winning the Championship.
Portsmouth are currently managed by Harry Redknapp. He was in charge when Portsmouth won promotion and finished 13th in their first season. After a short spell at rivals Southampton Redknapp returned to Portsmouth and began to build a really strong squad. |
