| In 2007/08 Manchester City gained a new owner in Thaksin Shinawatra. Sven Goran Eriksson took over and brought in a virtually new team of players. They won their first nine home games in the Premier League. At the end of the season Erikson left and Mark Hughes was installed as the new manager. |
