Leeds United were formed in 1919 and play their home games at Elland Road. They are nicknamed the Whites because of their kit colour. Leeds currently play in League One and are managed by Gary McAllister . The club went into administration at the end of the 2006-07 season.

They won the Premiership in 1992 and FA Cup in 1972. In 2004 they suffered a financial crisis which led to relegation to the Championship. Before their financial problems Leeds United were one of leading teams in England and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

After starting the 2007/08 season with a 15 point deduction Leeds began on superb form winning 11 and drawing 2 of their first 13 league games. However manager Denis Wise left and their results began to suffer. They ended the season in the playoffs but were beaten by Doncaster Rovers in the final.
