Charlton Athletic were formed in 1905 and are based in South East London. They play their home games at the Valley and are currently managed by Alan Pardew. Charlton currently play in the Championship and are nicknamed the Addicks. They play in Red shirts, White shorts and Red socks.

Charlton's recent success started when they moved back to the Valley in 1992. They finally won promotion to the Premiership in 1997-98 but were relegated in their first season. They kept faith with manager Alan Curbishley and bounced straight back winning Division One in 2000.

Curbishley later resigned in 2006 after 15 years in charge. It did not take long for Charlton's fortunes to waver. New manager Ian Dowie was sacked after just a few months in charge. Alan Pardew came in but failed to save the club from relegation. They only managed an 11th place finish in their first season back in the Championship.
