Birmingham City were formed in 1875 under the name Small Heath Alliance and later became Birmingham FC in the year 1905. Their nickname is the Blues because of their kit colour. They play their home games at St.Andrews which has a capacity of over 30,000.

Birmingham City have failed to win any of the major trophies in England but have won the Championship/Second Tier on four occasions. Their biggest achievement came in 1963 when they won the League Cup. In 2007/08 they let manager Steve Bruce and were relegated to the Championship.
