Barnsley are a South Yorkshire club who were formed in 1887. They play their home games at Oakwell Stadium which has a capacity of 23,009. They are currently managed by Simon Davey and play in the Championship after gaining promotion via the League One Playoffs in 2005/06.

Barnsley have had limited success with their main achievement winning the FA Cup back in 1912. They were last in the top division in 1997-98 when they lasted just one year in the top flight. After several relegations and financial troubles Barnsley won promotion to the Championship in 2005-06.

Two years later than had won of the most famous cup runs ever. Barnsley recorded a memorably victory away to Liverpool in the 5th Round of the FA Cup scoring a last minute winner. They then caused another major shock beating Chelsea 1 - 0 in the Quarter finals. They eventually lost to Cardiff City in the semi finals.
