Wales are one of the oldest national teams in the World but have failed to be a force in recent years. They play at the impressive Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Wales last qualified for a major tournament in 1958 when they reached the Quarter Finals of the World Cup.
They have been overshadowed by other British countries such as England. They very nearly qualified for the European Championships in 2004 only to lose to Russia in a very close playoff fixture. Results of late have been poor and they need to improve if they are to make a major competition. |
