Korea Republic football team represents South Korea and is considered the most successful Asian national team playing in six consecutive World Cups. Korea Republic were also the first Asian national team to reach the World Cup Semi Finals when they co-hosted the tournament in 2002.

Korea Republic also have a good Asian Cup record winning the first two tournaments in 1956 and 1960, but have surprisingly never won the competition since then. In the 2007 Asian Cup Korea Republic lost 3 - 4 on penalties to Iraq in the Semi Finals.
