Jamaica is an island nation of the Greater Antilles, 240 kilometers in length and as much as 85 kilometers in width, it is situated in the Caribbean Sea. Jamaica's best finish in the Gold Cup was in 1993 when they finished third after losing to Mexico in the semi finals. They also finished fourth in 1998.
Jamaica's most memorable moment came in 1998 when they managed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time. They were drawn against Argentina, Croatia and Japan. They lost their first two matches against Argentina and Croatia but managed to beat Japan in their last group game. |
