Ghana are one of the most successful teams in Africa having won the African Cup of Nations four times, only Egypt have won the title more times. Ghana also have had very good success at youth level winning the FIFA under 17 World title twice.
Ghana qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 2006. After losing their first match to Italy they beat Czech Republic 2 - 0 and USA 2 - 1 to finish second in the group. Ghana then had to face World Champions Brazil in the 2nd Round which proved too tough as they lost 3 - 0. |
