Czech Republic were formed in 1994 formerly being part of Czechoslovakia. Since then they have only qualified for one World Cup. Whilst being part of Czechoslovakia the national team had runner up finishes in 1934, 1962 and won the European Championships in 1976.
Since becoming Czech Republic they have finished runners-up in the 1996 European Championships losing in the final to Germany in the first ever golden goal. They also reached the semi-finals of 2004 Euro Championships. In 2006 they reached their first World Cup as an individual country. |
