Simon Whitlock was born on March 3rd, 1969 in Brisbane, Australia. He is nicknamed the Wizard of Oz and spent some time on the PDC circuit reaching the last 16 of the World Championship in 2003. The following year however he made the move to the BDO.
Whitlock reached the Quarter Finals of the 2007 World Masters before his excellent run to the final of the BDO World Championship at Lakeside. He beat Ted Hankey 5 - 0 on his way to the final but was beaten 5 - 7 by Mark Webster and had to settle for second place. |
