Scott Waites was born on February 17th, 1977 in Yorkshire, England. He made his TV debut in 2007 and has the nickname Scotty 2 Hotty. Waites burst onto the darts scene in 2007 winning the Dutch Open and Welsh Masters. As a result he shot up the World Rankings.

He earnt an invite to the Grand Slam of Darts but lost all three of his group matches. He made his Lakeside debut in 2008 and reached the Quarter Finals of the BDO World Championship. He had wins over Mike Veitch and Ramo Van Eijden before losing to Brian Woods in the last eight.
