Robert Thornton was born on July 17th, 1967 in Ayrshire. Scotland. He has the nickname the Thorn and made his TV debut at the BDO World Championship in 2005 when he reached the Quarter Finals. He failed to qualify for the event the next three years.
However in 2007 he he won the World Masters beating Darryl Fitton in the final. The win earnt him a place at Lakeside for 2008. Thornton again progressed to the Quarter Finals with wins over John Walton and Tony O'Shea before losing to Martin Adams. |
