BIO

Phil Taylor was born on August 13th, 1960 in Stoke-on-Trent, England. He is regarded as being the best darts player ever. His career started when Eric Bristow sponsored him 10,000. In 1990 Taylor beat Bristow 6 - 1 in the final of the Embassy World Championship.

Since then Phil Taylor has dominated the world of darts. He has won the World Championship 13 times. He has added a whole host of other tournament victories and has done a nine dart finish three times on live television. He now has a strong rivalry with Raymond Van Barneveld.

Barneveld came back from 0 - 3 to beat Taylor in the 2007 World Championship final. As a result Taylor made some changes and began practicing with Andy Hamilton. It quickly payed off as Taylor regained the Premier League crown and was again unbeaten in the whole campaign.

However 2007 proved to be a disappointing year as he missed out on all of the major PDC titles. Taylor did win the first staging of the Grand Slam of Darts but was disappointing in the 2008 World Championship eventually losing in teh Quarter Finals to Wayne Mardle.
