Alan Tabern was born on September 23rd, 1966 in St.Helens, England. He is nicknamed Tabby and made his TV debut in 2005. Tabern is new on the PDC scene having been an experienced county player for many years. He first appeared in the 2005 UK Open.

He had a very good weekend at the UK Open. He progressed right through to the semi-final coming up just short of a final place. He then progressed to the quarter finals of the 2007 World Championship with wins over Denis Ovens and Dave Askew before eventually losing to Raymond van Barneveld.
