Co Stompe was born on 10th September, 1962 in Amsterdam, Holland. He has the nickname The Matchstick and has been a member of the BDO since 1995. His best performance came in 2000 when he reached the semi finals of the BDO World Championship at Lakeside.

In recent season Co Stompe has failed to make an impact in any of the major competitions and many younger Dutch players have over taken him in the rankings. He has twice reached the Quarter Finals of the World Masters, most recently in 2006.
