Gary Spedding was born on August 5th, 1968 in England. He made his TV debut in 2000 at the BDO World Championship. Spedding lost out in the first round at Lakeside.

A year later he played in the PDC World Championship but lost to John Lowe in Round 1. In 2007 Spedding reached the 4th Round of the UK Open with wins over Dave Honey and Dave Jowett before losing to Wayne Jones.
