BIO

Kirk Shepherd was born on October 5th, 1986 in Ramsgate, England. He was an excellent youth player winning a host of titles. He joined the PDC in 2005 but struggled to make an impact. He then won 5 matches to qualify for the 2008 PDC World Championship.

In the first round he came up against Terry Jenkins who missed 7 darts to win the match before Shepherd progressed. He then beat Mick McGowan, Barrie Bates and Peter Manley to progress to the Semi Finals. Both McGowan and Manley had darts to knock Shepherd out.

In the last four he caused another shock beating Wayne Mardle 6 - 4. Shepherd became the youngest player to reach the PDC World Final. He failed to produce his best darts and was comfortably beaten 2 - 7 by John Part. He picked up a check for £50,000 and rocketed up the World Rankings.
