Alex Roy was born on September 4th, 1974 in Watford, England. He is nicknamed 'The Ace of Hearts' and he made his TV debut in 1998. Roy burst onto the scene in 2000 when he reached the Quarter Finals of the World Matchplay. He was then tipped as one of the most promising talents.

Since that performance his results have been disappointing and he is often let down by his poor temperament. He has shown in recent events that he is working hard at keeping calm and is a threat to some of the top players. He proved this by reaching the Quarter Finals of the 2006 UK Open.
