Wes Newton was born on August 27th, 1977 in Blackpool, England. He made his TV debut in 2004 at the UK Open. He is one of the leading young players that has emerged in recent years. He is nicknamed 'Av It' and practices with his brother Dale.

Wes Newton has had some strong performances in the television events reaching the semi-finals of the Las Vegas Desert Classic two years running. His best performance at the World Championship was in 2006 when he reached the Second Round before losing to Kevin Painter.
