Edwin Max was born on August 23rd, 1969 in Holland. He has the nickname Mad Max and made his TV debut in 2007. That year Max had some good wins over the likes of Brian Woods and Kevin Painter.

As a result he went into the 2008 PDC World Championship as the number 15 seed. Despite this he was unable to progress beyond the first round losing convincingly 0 - 3 to Simon Whitlock.
