Gary Mawson was born on May 17th, 1963 in Toronto, Canada. He has the nickname the Mauler and made his TV debut in 1996. He featured regularly on the PDC up until 2000 but never got beyond the last 16 of a televised event. However in 2007 Mawson broke this record reaching the last 8 in Las Vegas.

He beat Stuart Holden and Alan Tabern before losing to Terry Jenkins 7 - 10 in the Quarter Finals. He then caused several upsets in the Grand Slam of Darts beating John Part and Andy Jenkins before bowing out to Phil Taylor in the last 16 of the competition.
