Jelle Klaasen was born on October 17th 1984 in Alphen, Holland. He burst onto the scene in 2006 becoming the youngest ever winner of the BDO World Championship. He was a 100/1 outsider and did not even have a ranking. He beat Raymond Van Barneveld 7 - 5 in the final.

The following year he lost in the first round and announced he was joining the PDC. Since then he has struggled to make an impact on the PDC circuit. He made his debut in the 2008 World Championship but lost in the first round to Vincent Van de Voort.
