Paul Hanvidge was born on June 15th, 1961 in Scotland. He made his TV debut at the 2004 BDO World Championship and had made four appearances at Lakeside. In 2006 he had wins over Co Stompe and Simon Whitlock before losing to Shaun Greatbatch 3 - 5 in the Quarter Finals.

The following year Hanvidge again reached the last eight beating Martin Phillips and Albertino Essers on route. He lost to Phil Nixon in the Quarter Finals. In 2008 Hanvidge lost in the 1sr Round to Brian Woods who had the best average in the opening round.
