Ted Hankey was born on February 20th, 1968 in Stoke-on-Trent, England. He made his TV debut in 1998 and has the nickname The Count. In 2000 Hankey won the BDO Embassy World Championship. He beat Ronnie Baxter 6 - 0 in the final in just 46 minutes finishing the match with a 170 check out.
The following year Hankey again reached the final but was defeated 2 - 6 by John Walton. Since then Hankey has failed to get beyond the Quarter Finals. In 2008 he again lost in the last eight losing 0 - 5 to Simon Whitlock. He has reached the World Master Semi finals on three occasions. |
