Steve Farmer was born in England and made his TV debut in 2008 at the PDC World Championship. He lost out in the first round to Tony O'Shea 2 - 3 despite having a better average. Farmer has had more success in the World Masters. In 2004 he reached round 4 losing 2 - 3 to Martin Adams.

The following year he again reached the 4th Round of the Masters but was beaten by John Walton 2 - 3. However in 2006 he got revenge beating Walton in the Quarter Finals before again losing out to Adams in the Semi Final. Farmer never got into the game losing 0 - 6 in sets.
