Tony David was born on September 11th 1967 in Queensland, Australia. He has the nickname Deadly Boomerang and made his TV debut in 2001 losing to Andy Fordham in the first round of the Lakeside World Championship. He returned the following year as a 66/1 outsider.

Despite being unfavoured David went on to win the title being Martin Adams and Mervyn King along the way. Since that victory he has struggled at Lakeside losing in the first round on his last three appearances including in 2008 to Gary Robson.
