Owen Caffrey was born in Ireland and made his TV debut in 2004. He initially played in the BDO reaching the last 32 of the World Masters in 2003 losing out to Co Stompe. Caffrey then switched to the PDC.

In 2006 he reached the 4th Round of the UK Open losing 3 - 8 to Denis Ovens. The following year he went a round further thanks to an 11 - 6 win over Jason Clark. He eventually lost to Colin Monk.
