Wayne Atwood was born on 24th July, 1964 in Caerphilly, Wales. He has the nickname Celtic Warrior and made his TV debut in 2004 at the PDC World Championship. Atwood had wins over Toro Sano and Mick Manning to progress to the third round.

In the last 32 he was drawn against Peter Manley and lost an exciting clash in a deciding set. He again played in the World Championship in 2007 but was beaten in the first round by Chris Mason having averaged 84.65.
