Gary Anderson was born on December 22nd 1970 in Eyemouth, Scotland. He has been a member of the BDO since 2002. He had a breakthrough season in 2007 winning two major television titles, the International Darts League and the World Darts Trophy.

He has disappointed at the BDO World Championship losing the first round 5 times. He went into the 2008 tournament as the 2/1 favourite. Despite this he again lost in the first round losing out to the unknown Fabian Roosenbrand to again disappoint his fans and backers.
