If you thought Phil Taylor couldn't get any better then you were wrong.
His 8-5 win over Kevin Painter last night in the Premier League was once again breathtaking and capped by a superb 9 dart finish.
Painter looked to be on course for an upset when he raced into a 4-1 lead and was averaging well over 100.
He couldn't keep that form up however and Taylor powered his way back into the match and made it 26 straight wins against Painter.
In the other games Barney and Lewis played out a thrilling 7-7 draw which would suggest Barney is nearly back to his best.
| Player | Pld | Pts | Odds | Bookmaker |
| Simon Whitlock | 2 | 3 | 7.5 | Betfred |
| Phil Taylor | 2 | 3 | 2.38 | Skybet |
| Gary Anderson | 2 | 2 | 7.5 | Skybet |
| Adrian Lewis | 2 | 2 | 5.0 | Totesport |
| Raymond Van Barneveld | 2 | 2 | 15.0 | bet365 |
| Kevin Painter | 2 | 2 | 51.0 | Skybet |
| Andy Hamilton | 2 | 2 | 34.0 | bet365 |
| James Wade | 2 | 0 | 19.0 | Paddy Power |
Anderson was far from his top form but a terrible display from Andy Hamilton who couldn't hit a double to save his life meant the defending champion picked up his first win.
In the final game of the night both Whitlock and Wade failed to produce their best darts but it was the Aussie who came away with the win.
In summary Barney is one to watch in upcoming weeks whilst I can't see anyone beating Taylor. Wade is once again off to a slow start and Anderson is completely out of form.
I expect an improved performance from Hamilton next week and I was actually quietly surprised with Painter but still think he will struggle.
