7 days ago Kyle Stanley took a 5 shot lead into the final round at Torrey Pines. He lost in a playoff.
Like Stanley, Spencer Levin has never won on the PGA Tour. He takes a 6 shot lead into the final round in Phoenix and is a short price favourite to win.
Will he get the job done? It's tough to tell. Going by Saturday's performance Levin looked focused on he job in hand and extended his lead at the top with a fine 68.
Sunday is a different test and he might not sleep that well tonight given he has never had a lead after 54 holes before.
| Phoenix Open Latest Odds | Score | Odds | Bookmaker |
| S.Levin | -17 | 1.29 | Skybet |
| W.Simpson | -11 | 8.5 | bet365 |
| B.Watson | -10 | 17.0 | Sportingbet |
| J.Huh | -10 | 14.0 | Sportingbet |
| C.Stroud | -9 | 81.0 | Sportingbet |
| J.Dufner | -9 | 46.0 | Boylesports |
| G.Chalmers | -9 | 51.0 | bet365 |
| B.Crane | -9 | 51.0 | Sportingbet |
| K.Stanley | -9 | 34.0 | bet365 |
For those of you that don't know Levin then he is a temperamental, hot headed player who can often lose his rag on the golf course.
If he makes a bad start then he could easily implode letting his nearest challengers back into contention.
The fact in form Webb Simpson is his nearest challenger and Bubba Watson makes up the three ball would suggest Levin might be looking over his shoulder and keeping a watchful eye on the leaderboard.
I certainly won't be backing Levin at odds as low as 1.29 to win this title.
