Gutted that Mickelson didn't win the Northern Trust Open having backed him outright at 10/1 at the start of the week.
After two early birdies on the front 9 Mickelson opened up a two shot lead over the chasing pack. However bogeys on 8 and 9 were followed by 3 putts on 14 and 15.
It handed the initiative to Bill Haas who managed to get into the clubhouse at 7 under par, 1 clear of Mickelson and Bradley who still had 3 holes to play.
The best chance was always going to be the par 5 17th but Bradley found the fairway bunker and Mickelson found sand by the green with his second shot.
Mickelson then left his birdie put less than an inch short of the hole which at that stage of the tournament was inexcusable.
It meant both Mickelson and Bradley needed to birdie the last to force a playoff. Mickelson ran through the green with his approach shot but some how managed to hole from 25 feet to cause elation in the gallery.
Bradley then followed him in from around half the distance to force a three way playoff.
It was all in vein as Bill Haas holed a monster putt on the second playoff hole to win the title and leave me feeling hard done by.
I wasn't impressed with Mickelson over the final 3 days and it has raised question marks about whether he is worth betting on to win the Masters this year. At the moment I am not convinced.
