Is O'Sullivan back to his best?
Ronnie O'Sullivan has made the semi finals of a full ranking event for the first time in 17 months.
For a player of his ability this really is a terrible record and it's amazing punters are so keen to side with the rocket.
He looked to be on his way home in Round 1 when he trailed Andrew Higginson 4-0 at the interval.
Higginson had several chances to beat O'Sullivan but failed to take advantage. Against a tougher opponent the Rocket would already be back home with his feet up.
O'Sullivan again had to come from behind in his Quarter Final when he trailed Matthew Stevens 3-1 at the break, but again won the next 4 frames to progress.
He will now face Stephen Lee in the semi finals who is another surprise this week. O'Sullivan is a best price of just 1.3 to win this match, odds I wouldn't go near.
Also a price I wouldn't touch with a barge pole is the Evens on offer for O'Sullivan to win this tournament. Stephen Maguire has been in excellent form as has Shaun Murphy and I will be backing either if they meet O'Sullivan in the final.
So the answer to the title is NO, O'Sullivan is not back to his best. You have been warned.
