I do love a good value bet and stumbled across this one whilst looking at the odds for the Australian Open which starts next week.
The women's tournament could be very open. Kvitova is obviously the strong favourite but at times her game can go off the boil on hard courts.
I am not sure she is ready to win a Grand Slam on this surface. With Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters both injury doubts it could open the door for another first time winner.
One of those players looking to make the breakthrough is German Sabine Lisicki. She had a great 2011 with 2 WTA Titles and a run to the Semi Finals at Wimbledon.
She also reached the 4th Round of the US Open. She has a very powerful serve and is solid from the baseline making her a very tough opponent.
The average price for Lisicki is 39.72, but Unibet are offering punters 100.00. It could be something to do with the injury scare in Auckland last week.
She withdrew from her Quarter Final match with two games remaining and then pulled out of Syndey. I am convinced it was precautionary especially reading her twitter post today.
Lisicki said "Rain please go away!! We want sun to practice outdoors here in Melbourne!!". That doesn't sound like a player struggling with an injury.
At nearly 100/1 Lisicki looks worth backing and the chances are you will able to lay her at lower odds later in the tournament when a few of the big names tumble or even crumble with their injuries.
