- This WTA International event is not as important for her as the Doha Premier was last week. She can play at this "International" level of tournament almost any week of the year.
- A win today would mean a lot more for Davis than it would for Lepchenko and my feeling is that the higher ranked player may tank this match.
- Even if Lepchenko gives this match her all she will struggle to adapt to the conditions here. She hits a lot of unforced errors at the best of times and Davis is a talented enough player to take her chance and grab the win here.
- One possibility is that Lepchenko has picked up an injury after her exploits in Doha last week. If she were to retire Ladbrokes would pay out on a win for Davis here. They also have the best price.
